The question of mobile phone coverage is one that’s always been in the back of your mind when you’re looking at a mobile phone purchase, and the latest news on coverage in Australia could be a good indicator of what you’re going to be getting.
In the last year, a lot of coverage has been published on the subject, with some of the latest stories from Australia including:Mobile phone plans can vary across the board and depending on the carrier, coverage is going to vary from country to country.
As you can see in the chart below, some plans are very cheap and others are very expensive.
It’s also worth noting that not all plans are created equal.
If you’re buying a phone with an 8GB data plan, for example, you’re likely to get coverage for around a quarter of the cost of a similar phone with 2GB data.
If you’re getting a smartphone that comes with a 5G network, you’ll likely get coverage around 20% of the price.
There are some caveats to this analysis though, as some plans only offer a limited number of coverage regions, which may not be as good as the coverage you’re currently getting.
The main takeaway from this analysis is that while the coverage is a good indication of what the coverage for your mobile phone is going be, it’s not a reliable indicator of whether or not you’ll be able to get the coverage that you want.
This post has been updated to include a statement from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) about the validity of the data plan price.
